Epic Thornbridge Stout Choc Brownies

Epic!!

So a couple of weeks ago, instead of our normal meet, we were treated with a road trip to Epic HQ in Mt Wellington.

As the Master Chef, I needed to to stop and think of what to bring.  So I sat down to “PUZZLE Time” and internalised a complicated situation in my head…  After some time I figured that ghost chips weren’t going to cut the mustard 😛

I came up with “Epic Choc Brownies”

The Master Chef goes a bit healthy

As a typical looking master chef, I look like a jolly fat man. You have to lick the bowl, the spoon, the mixer… hell you have to lick every bloody thing with the sweet taste of beer in every thing I make……..and then drink the rest of the beer and 1 or 2 other beers. So I thought I’d make something a bit more healthy, still with a beer twist.

This dip I made to go with all the carrots, and sliced peppers is super easy and quick. I goes with chips and anything else you can think of.

Master Chefs NZ Beer Cake

Here’s another Quick stop to hear from the Master Chef.

After reading about it in the Weekend Herald everyone must have their mouth ready for a piece of the moist chocolate cake made with Croucher Patriot, an American Black Ale full of American amarillo and simcoe hops, and topped with icing made using Dark Horse by Onekaka’s Mussel Inn.

The Croucher Patriot has to be my all time favourite beer – of all time.  Its not what you would imagine in a beer.  Pouring into a glass you would think it was a dark looking porter or a light stout but if you did a blind taste test the taste blows your mind, with a super smooth hop taste.

Read on for the recipe…

The Master chef Speaks

I Thought it was about time I got out of the kitchen and wrote something bloody well down.

I have taken it upon myself to be the self appointed Master BEER chef. Sence the formation of “the Hopful Thinkers” I have gone a bit crazy and thought that while we were trying all these different beers I sit there and think what would this type of beer be good as a cake….a bread…….brownies the list went on and on.
